Recently Domino’s pizza, a famous American restaurant chain, has started accepting bitcoin payments (BTC) via the Lightning Network (LN) via the Lightning Pizza platform.
Currently only available in the USA for now, the new application will allow users to use Lightning Network to order Domino’s pizza, at a 5% discount, with a transaction cost of less than $ 0.01, an instant payment network, and an estimated delivery time of about 30 minutes.
The Lightning Pizza website also promotes three types of wallet lighting and the devices that can support them, namely BLUEWALLET (iOS & Android), CASA (Desktop & Casa Node), ECLAIR (Android). This to encourage the use of LN even for those not familiar with it, and push LN towards mass adoption.
The operation is very simple:
1-You place the order and delivery details
2-Pay with bitcoin through the Lightning network
3-You receive delivery status updates
4-Enter the tip displayed when the pizza is delivered
Lightning Pizza was greatly appreciated by the whole crypto community, so much so that on Twitter, those who has had the opportunity to use the LN service shared comments, photos, and videos testifying the success of the operation.
Not only that, even the most famous characters of the crypto scene have shared and commented on the brilliant idea of Lightning Pizza, including Binance’s CEO, Changpeng Zhao:
