The number of ICO candidates to the final has risen to 135, coming from each continent, including some who have already raised funds through private sales.

There are 32 Swiss candidates, 13 from Great Britain, 9 from Singapore, 8 from Estonia, 5 from the USA and 2 from Italy.

In addition, more ICO projects from Canada, Russia, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and even from Anguilla Island in the Caribbean.

A total of 38 countries submitted their requests.

“It will be the first major crypto event for the city of Lugano”, explains Simone Conti, head of ICO at Cryptolab, “A real competition between the best ICOs of the future. The winners will win prizes worth over a million dollars, in addition to listing on one of the world’s most important exchanges. There are still a few days to go, you can register until June 3. I expect the number to reach 150”.

For the aspiring finalists, the first highlight will be Monday, June 4, when the names of the first 15 finalists will be published on the website of the event around 12:00 am.

Then, on the evening of 6 June, the names of the other 5 will be known, selected among the participants in the semifinals.

On Thursday 7 June, each ICO finalist will take the floor for 10 minutes for a pitch to present their project.

The jury will evaluate those who will go up on the podium.

The mayors of Lugano, Marco Borradori, and Chiasso, Bruno Arrigoni, will welcome the guests.

Among the local authorities, Municipal Michele Folletti, responsible for Finance of Lugano, and Stefano Rizzi, Director of the Economics Division of the Department of Finance of the Canton of Ticino will also bring their greetings.

In addition to Cryptopolis, the event will be promoted by the Crypto Valley Association, the global hub based in Zug created on the model of Silicon Valley.

ICO Race will also be an opportunity to listen to the speeches of some members of the jury related to “The global state of ICOs” or the issue of the “Crypto Bubble vs. Debt Bubble”.

Roundtables will also discuss “Switzerland, from banking homeland to Crypto homeland” with Lars Schlichting, Giovanni Stucchi, partner in Kellerhals-Carrard, Francesco Dagnino, partner Lexia Avvocati and Jean-Luc Epars, partner KPMG Switzerland.

The judges that will be selecting the most promising ICOs will be bankers, venture capitalists, lawyers, developers, investors, startup and exchange entrepreneurs.

These are the names: Lars Schlichting, partner of Kellerhals-Carrard, Thomas Bertani, Director of Eidoo and founder of Oraclize, Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Bitfinex, Federico Tosato, founder of Adm Ventures and Yeldo, Anna Palmina, managing director of Palmina Ivest and Marc P. How do the prizes work

The first ICO to qualify will receive $600,000, plus the ability to be listed on one of the world’s leading exchanges.

The runner-up will win $300,000 + $100,000 off the products of ICO Engine, one of the sponsors of the event.

Finally, the third step of the podium will win $100,000 + $100,000 off to launch their own token sale using ICO Engine.

Wallem’s first time

ICO Race will also host the presentation of Wallem, a new app similar to Pokemon Go, with which to capture tokens.

Andrea Bempensante, CPO of the company, explains, “Wallem is a catch n’ snatch in augmented reality.

In practice, players can collect (catch) the tokens they find on the territory or steal (snatch) them away from other players, using their device in AR+ at close range.

The game requires strategy, special items, experience and teamwork to capture other people’s tokens and defend your own.

How to take part in ICO Race

To participate in the contest, teams with an ICO project must submit their application and submit the necessary information for an initial screening.

A whitepaper with a clear description of both the business model and the operation of the token is needed, including the financial data underlying the future token sale. Another precondition is that the ICO must be launched after 6 June and by the end of 2018.

The judges will decide on the following variables: Solution to the problem, Business and Token sale model, Token Sale terms, Team and Pitch.

Other relevant assessment factors will be the token release process, pricing, and lock-ups for teams and partners.

You can also participate in the event as a mere spectator, by purchasing tickets.

The official sponsor of the event is ICO Engine, Eidoo‘s platform for launching ICO. Other sponsors are Cryptolab, The Cryptonomist, ICO Booster, CryptoPolis, KPGM Swiss and Cryptocompare, the world’s leading provider of real-time data on the crypto market, collected through more than 25 exchanges.
