Jeff Garzik, a new theory on the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto

Dave Kleiman would be the creator of Bitcoin.

New hypotheses are periodically expressed on the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, but the one proposed by Jeff Garzik on Bloomberg is different from the others because it was proposed by one of the historical developers of Bitcoin Core which is the main software in the world to manage a Bitcoin node.

During the interview, Garzik stated that he started writing software code for Bitcoin after reading a post on slashdot in July 2010. At that time Bitcoin had only existed for about a year and a half and Satoshi was still active.

Within a short time, Garzik became Bitcoin’s third most important coder, after Satoshi himself and Gavin Andresen, and remained in this position until 2014.

During the initial period, Garzik worked directly with Nakamoto, interacting with him via email and on the Bitcointalk forum, until Satoshi suddenly disappeared in 2011.

My personal theory is that it’s Floridian Dave Kleiman. It matches his coding style, this gentleman was self taught. And the Bitcoin coder was someone who was very, very smart, but not a classically trained software engineer.

Dave Kleiman was a former sheriff’s officer in Florida, who became an expert in forensic computing and died in 2013. It’s not the first time he’s been associated with Satoshi, also because when Craig Wright claimed to be the real Nakamoto, Kleiman’s heirs sued him for several billion dollars for having violated Kleiman’s intellectual property.

Garzik has been in direct communication with Satoshi Nakamoto for some time, so he’s one of the few people who can claim to know him, even though he’s never met him in person, or by phone or video call, but he’s interacted a lot with him via email and on Bitcointalk.

He would’ve never been able to verify the real identity of the creator of Bitcoin, but he had been in touch with Satoshi for a long time.

According to Garzik, Dave Kleiman’s coding style (i.e. the way he wrote code) would be compatible with that of Satoshi Nakamoto.

In 1995 Kleiman was paralyzed by a motorcycle accident and this led him to start working on so-called digital forensics at the sheriff’s office in Palm Beach, Florida where he worked.

Kleiman was considered a very brilliant person who excelled at anything he did, but he was not a real computer developer.

These last two features would make Garzik the best candidate to be recognized as the real Satoshi Nakamoto, in addition to the fact that Satoshi literally disappeared from circulation in 2011 and Kleiman died only a couple of years later.
