The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled a new initiative, called “AI and Blockchain Guide“, to “strengthen the UAE leading position globally” and which aims to provide a standardized definition of artificial intelligence and blockchain at the federal level through the creation of a guide that will be given to all local authorities in the Middle Eastern State.
At the same time, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, a national program for the development of artificial intelligence and blockchain solutions was also launched, which aims to provide related university programs and scholarships.
The programme will identify the work most affected by these technologies by integrating new tools to reduce public staff.
Training courses will also be organized for employees who will be replaced by artificial intelligence in order to offer them new opportunities.
The country’s goal, in fact, is to become a world leader in the adoption of artificial intelligence by 2031 and shift 50% of government transactions to blockchain by 2021.
Thus, on the one hand, the new guide will provide a standardized definition of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence at the federal level to help familiarize the competent authorities with the two technologies, while on the other, the program will provide training courses to deepen the knowledge of these technologies and to prepare for the replacement of workers with artificial tools.
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said:
“The UAE is keen to adopt AI and Blockchain technologies in all the economic, health, educational and other vital sectors. It seeks to boost cooperation and forge partnerships between the various government, federal and local entities, international companies and startups in a bid to find effective and innovative solutions and make a positive impact”.
