Blockchain Italy Summit: starting on February 5th

On Saturday, February 5th, 2019, the Blockchain Italy Summit will be held in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies.

The event, which will be hosted in the Sala della Lupa in Montecitorio, will begin at 9 am and will deal with issues related to blockchain, no longer just a buzzword to learn about, but a reality that currently has a global value of 125 billion dollars and that has applications in countless fields: from logistics, the management of processing capacity and data storage to privacy, the processing of sensitive data and the management of financial assets.

A sector that, in addition to cryptocurrencies, is increasingly extending to many industrial sectors.

The recent evolution towards the so-called Tokeneconomics and the introduction of tangible and financial assets on the blockchain opens up a whole new sector for which political and social debates are needed. The ‘Blockchain Italy Summit’ aims to deepen these topics with many experts.

In fact, the DLT provides the possibility of a democratic and decentralised management of technological evolution, a factor that has never been adequately addressed before.

In Italy, there are now dozens of projects and initiatives that are making the sector grow, a living and dynamic reality that can greatly benefit from a favourable legislative and legal environment, as well as from the presence of adequate funds.

Unfortunately, many mass media have given inaccurate information on the subject, focusing only on the financial aspects and speculation linked to bitcoin, without mentioning the innovation that Distributed Ledger Technology can provide.

Among the participants at the summit will be: Laura Garavini, President of the Senate Defence Commission, Siim Sikkut, Head of Technology and Telecommunications of the Republic of Estonia, Evarist Bartolo, Minister of Education of Malta, Francesca Tempesta, founder of the ADR Observatory, Luigi de Magistris, Mayor of Naples, Jacopo Visetti, CEO of Effort and Erik Zhang, CEO of NEO.
