The City of Bari has announced the launch of a blockchain project with the aim of certifying the authenticity and issuance of surety policies through the use of smart contracts.
This project in Bari will dematerialise the issuance process throughout the supply chain, from banks to insurance companies, via financial intermediaries, thanks to the use of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT).
The testing will be carried out together with SIA, a European hi-tech company that operates in the services and payment infrastructure sector and, in particular, will be based on the SIAchain technological infrastructure.

This initiative aims to be one of the main elements ready to grow and multiply, to give results that can bring value, both in the public world and in that of private companies, acting as a driving force for other public administrations in order to encourage similar initiatives. Bari has already taken up the challenge of innovation”.
