BTC Markets now supports Stellar. Australian users of the exchange platform will be able to trade XLM with Australian dollars (AUD) and bitcoin (BTC).
The same exchange informed its users with a post on their website:
“BTC Markets is committed to bringing new digital assets to the platform and our focus remains to support assets that meet our standards, are legally compliant and have a part to play in the future growth and adoption of blockchain technology. With no exception to this, we are thrilled to announce support for Stellar Lumens (XLM) on BTC Markets! From the 3rd of April 2019, BTC Markets users will be able to deposit XLM into their trading accounts with AUD and BTC market pairs to open on the 4th of April 2019”.
Stellar Lumens vs. Ripple
Stellar Lumens is becoming more and more popular in the banking ecosystem, as it allows very versatile transactions and payments to be made in real time using a decentralised system. One of its rivals in this respect is Ripple for example.
Both XRP and XLM are excellent cryptocurrencies and ledgers for international payments, suitable for all those financial systems that operate in different markets and need a blockchain-based system that has the advantage of making fast and secure transfers.
It is not possible to predict the future, but most likely, if Stellar’s decentralised blockchain continues to be attractive to the banking system, it could become the first crypto competitor of its older sister Ripple, created by the same founder.
