Microsoft has decided to sponsor the Ethereum Ethereal Virtual Hackathon event that will end tomorrow after two weeks of competition.
The winner will be awarded 67,000 DAI, made available by Microsoft and other companies, including ConsenSys Lab and JPMorgan.
The contest was based on the development of the decentralised Gitcoin platform, which allows the financing of open source projects. In the last 2 years of activity, Gitcoin has provided over $1 million to over 18 thousand users who have contributed in some way to the development and improvement of several open source projects.
With this event, Microsoft makes it clear how interested it is in blockchain technology, in this case, that of Ethereum. As a result, Microsoft supports 20 projects, ranging from the development of smart contracts for container shipping to the development of smart contracts for insurance companies.
Recently Microsoft had listed Stratis on its cloud computing platform, Microsoft Azure.
In addition, a few months ago, Microsoft and Nasdaq announced that Microsoft Azure would integrate its blockchain technology into the financial network of the NASDAQ (NFF) stock exchange.
The NFF is a technology that offers an infrastructure for trading, allowing for the monitoring of the stock exchange.
