The Hyperledger blockchain project under the guidance of the Linux Foundation continues to attract attention and new partnerships.

Just yesterday, June 27, Hyperledger announced 11 new members including giants such as Lenovo and JD.com. The new members also come from the United States and Europe, although most of them are Chinese companies.

The Hyperledger blockchain project

Hyperledger is a project that, through collaboration with leading companies in various sectors (finance, banking, IoT, technology, logistics and manufacturing), aims to create “a new generation of transactional applications that establish trust, accountability and transparency within them, while streamlining business processes and legal constraints.”

Among the latest partners, we find names such as Beike Finance, BGI Shenzhen Co., Ltd., Bit Game Foundation, Circulor, JD.com, Kyra Solutions, Lenovo, NuCypher, Optherium Labs, Shenzhen Onething Technologies and Shenzhen Ultrachain Technologies.

Moreover, the recent explosion and spread of projects related to blockchain technology in China are reflected in some numbers. Of the 456 companies that are now trying to integrate blockchain as a driving force of their business, 50 come from China.

Among the major participants are Baidu, Tencent and JD.com.

Omnitude, a company that provides blockchain services to companies, also became a member of the Hyperledger project two days ago.

As blockchain technologies continue to prove their value in increasingly diverse applications, Hyperledger continues to gain traction and investment from an increasingly diverse membership base,” said Brian Behlendorf, Executive Director of Hyperledger.

We have members of all sizes from close to 30 countries that are transforming healthcare, financial services, supply chain management, digital identity management and other online and cloud-based businesses and services. Of late, it’s been exciting to see the rush of innovation in China and other Asian countries, where we have a large and growing base. However, we recognize that, thanks to our diverse community, enterprise blockchain technology is impacting companies and users around the world.

Who are the new members

Lenovo, a $45 billion Fortune 500 company, creates high-potential computing power systems. It has just reached the status of the largest global supplier of the top 500 supercomputers measured by the number of systems classified in the TOP500 list. One in four systems on the list belongs to Lenovo.

JD.com is China’s largest online retailer. The company is a member of the Fortune Global 500. Thanks to its e-commerce platform JD.com has an active customer base of 301.8 million people and operates a network of 515 warehouses out of a total of almost 11 million square meters.
