After Elon Musk, MrBeast has also put Bitcoin in the bio of his official Twitter profile with the hashtag #bitcoin.
MrBeast has over 9 million followers on Twitter, over 12 million on Instagram and as many as 52.5 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, where he has so far racked up almost 9 billion views.
His Wikipedia entry states that Jimmy Donaldson (his real name) is an American YouTuber, entrepreneur and philanthropist, a pioneer of videos focusing on expensive stunts.
He started making videos in 2012, at the age of 13, but only became really famous in 2017 thanks to a famous video in which he counted up to 100,000.
He also has other channels besides his main one, such as MrBeast Shorts and MrBeast Gaming which both exceed 10 million subscribers.
In 2019 he won the Breakout Creator of Streamy Awards and in 2020 he won the YouTuber of the Year award.
To date, he is reportedly among the top 10 highest paid YouTubers in the world.
MrBeast and the Bitcoin poll
MrBeast has never dedicated a video to Bitcoin on his YouTube channel, although he did post a poll on Twitter asking followers whether they owned Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. The poll attracted 641,000 responses, mostly negative, 47,000 likes and 19,000 retweets.
If he decides to include overt and explicit references to Bitcoin in his videos, he could lead literally tens of millions of people to learn about cryptocurrencies, and among them, it is likely that most are people still outside this market, given the results of the survey he launched a few days ago.
Moreover, after Elon Musk, there are many celebrities who have no more qualms about revealing to the general public that they are bitcoiners, or at least supporters of Bitcoin, so it is possible that MrBeast is not the last instance of this.
