According to Jeremy Liew, partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners and early investor in Snapchat, the price of bitcoin could reach $500,000 by 2030. The same prediction was also supported by Peter Smith, co-founder of Blockchain.com.
Bitcoin in 2030: how much will it be worth?
So let’s take a look at all the different predictions by analysts and traders on the price of bitcoin in 2030.
Like Peter Smith, the Winklevoss twins predict that BTC could be worth half a million dollars within the next 10 years.
In fact, Tyler Winklevoss stated on his blog this summer.
“Our thesis is that bitcoin is gold 2.0, that it will disrupt gold, and if it does that, it has to have a market cap of 9 trillion, so we think it could price one day at $US500,000 of bitcoin.”
Also according to a report by Crypto Research, by 2030 the price of bitcoin will reach almost $400,000, and other cryptocurrencies will also set record values.
More recently, the new CoinMarketCap blog has also been talking about predictions and according to a survey of 1,000 people conducted by Genesis Mining, about 8% believe that bitcoin will be worth between $50 and $100,000 in 2030.
On the other hand, 4.8% think that 1 bitcoin will be worth $500,000, as can be seen in the following chart:
According to Wences Casares, CEO and founder of Xapo, Bitcoin will be worth as much as $1,000,000 by 2027.
Adam Back, on the other hand, takes a more cautious view, explaining on Twitter in January 2020 his opinion on the value of Bitcoin in the coming years:
“$100,000 bitcoin doesn’t seem so far given we already crossed $10,000 threshold a few times when few expected even $1,000 some years back and $10,000 seemed crazy”.
Finally, for the founder of Social Capital, Chamath Palihapitiya, Bitcoin will be worth $1 million by 2037.
