As stated in a recent tweet by Charlie Lee, the Litecoin team continues to work to integrate the MimbleWimble protocol on the LTC blockchain.
David Burkett, in fact, one of the major developers of Grin ++ is now working on the design with Lee.
Litecoin recently went through the halving process, which cut in half the LTC reward given to miners. As a result of this, there was a marked drop in the blockchain hashrate, leading many to abandon the project because it was no longer as profitable as it used to be.
However, this collaboration and integration of MimbleWimble do not appear out of thin air, given that already in February of this year the Litecoin Foundation announced that it was interested in the MimbleWimble protocol.
This integration is obviously also the result of the improvement of the scalability of the blockchain, a problem that Vitalik Buterin is trying to address with the Ethereum blockchain, although with a different solution, with a focus on the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain.
