The only purpose of these assets is to be traded for items and weapons and therefore comply with the original idea of bitcoin as a form of payment.
Since Escape from Tarkov is set in a dystopian version of the world, the creators have thought well to exploit the idea of Bitcoin as a currency untied from a centralized entity.
Interestingly, some trades allow to exchange an old portable version of the video game Tetris for 1 physical bitcoin, so 0.2 BTC, or use 1 physical bitcoin to buy a rifle.
