Il tanto atteso fork di Ethereum, Constantinople, è stato rimandato per vulnerabilità, ovvero un bug nella sicurezza.

Come si legge su Twitter in un post scritto da Eric Conner, founder di ETH Hub, infatti, il fork Constantinople è stato rimandato per una criticità trovata da Chain security nelle modifiche dello SSTORE changes.
Nonostante questo, spiega Conner, gli update a Geth e Parity arriveranno presto, quindi c’è ancora bisogno di aggiornare anche i propri nodi.
The Constantinople fork is being delayed due to a security vulnerability discovered by @chain_security in the SSTORE changes.
Updates to Geth and Parity will be coming very soon and it’s vitally important to make sure you update if you run a node.

Come ha spiegato oggi ChainSecurity in un blog post su Medium, se approvato, l’EIP 1283 avrebbe potuto fornire agli hacker un modo per rubare crypto.
I core developer di Ethereum sono quindi giunti alla conclusione che ci sarebbe voluto troppo tempo per risolvere questi bug prima dell’hard fork, che sarebbe dovuto avvenire al blocco 7,080,000.
Per ora il fork è stato quindi rimandato, ma non si sa a quando.
