Cardano: updates on the crypto and blockchain

Yesterday Charles Hoskinson, founder of the Cardano (ADA) project, released a video on Youtube, in which he gave updates to the crypto community on the developments and progress of the blockchain.

The first thing Hoskinson talked about was the recent Incentivized Testnet (ITN) and the fact that it was launched close to the Christmas holidays. This timing has led to a series of challenges, partly because the development team was on holiday and some bugs were found, which will be fixed in the coming weeks with new updates.

These problems are related to the saturation of the pools, which has forced many to open parallel pools creating quite a few problems for the Cardano crypto community.

With regard to the ITN, Hoskinson has noticed how the synergy between users and stakepools has been very beneficial: there would have been a lot of interaction between different users, both among those who have actually created and managed the pools and among users who have chosen the most convenient stakepools in terms of rewards.

This, explained the founder of Cardano, has allowed collecting important data on how to improve and integrate new features.

Among other things, Hoskinson himself has recently announced that he has commissioned a series of video tutorials about the ITN and that will be released soon.

As for the code, Hoskinson explained that both Haskell and Rust are used, codes that have been designed and used for different purposes in order to solve different problems.

Finally, he talked about Cardano’s agenda for this year’s and its updates: first of all, they will try to complete Ouroboros, which has been going on for 5 years now. In order to finish it, Cardano has established partnerships, in particular with Peter Schwabe, to integrate a post-quantum signature for Cardano.

The entire ecosystem that revolves around the Cardano crypto, such as the various wallets and nodes, will also undergo further updates in order to be enhanced with new functions. Currently in fact, for Hoskinson, there is still some way to go for the commercial vision of the project, as it is still too early to define Cardano as a complete blockchain.

Hoskinson also mentioned future projects that will be integrated and continued, like an oracle system similar to Chainlink, but which will be a proprietary solution that will interface with data from the outside world.

A part of the video was also dedicated to the commercial developments of the project which, thanks to Plutus and Marlowe, will move from a laboratory test phase to a field one.

In other words, according to the founder, 2020 will be the year of Cardano
