Here is yet another scam in which criminals have copied the website of the famous wallet, in this case that of Exodus, in order to deceive users and steal funds.
This is not an exact copy of the website, but the wallet interface, which contains a screenshot on which the users are asked to enter their passphrase to restore the wallet.
This obviously allows the criminals to have access to the wallet and steal the funds contained in it.
Unfortunately, the most worrying thing is that criminals have used Google ads to make the result appear at the top and when typing “exodus wallet” on the search engine, the scam website appears.
The original website appears as a second result.
Looking into the matter in more detail, the malicious site (https://excodus.cf/#) contains little information.
From the few data that can be retrieved, the website appears to be Russian.
This is a real attack on the wallet since the information that is entered is automatically transmitted to the criminals who in turn will enter the credentials on the official wallet to withdraw the victim’s funds.
One thing that should be done is to report the website to Google:
Unfortunately, criminals stop at nothing and it is clear that even filters from the most important platforms, Google in this case, are unable to filter all the content and might allow these abuses.
