Paolo Ardoino is the CTO of the famous Bitfinex exchange.
In a recent tweet, he said that by the end of the year Bitfinex, ETHfinex, EOSfinex and Honey Framework will work together to create a hub with massive liquidity.

This is a very ambitious new project which should be ready by 2019. The objective is to integrate orders between different exchanges in order to increase the overall liquidity of the system.
Ardoino has also confirmed with another tweet that they are already working on the integration of trustless gateways and has defined as satisfactory the level of integration achieved so far.
The relationships between Bitfinex and EOS have been known for some time, as well as the fact that Bitfinex plans to implement a decentralized exchange in collaboration with the EOS team, called EOSfinex.
The decentralized exchange is still in the development phase, but knowing that from 2019 it could integrate the purchase and sale orders of Bitfinex means that it could enjoy good liquidity from the launch itself.
