The blockchain against the crisis: new jobs in Italy

The brain drain in Italy is certainly a growing phenomenon: in 2017 alone more than 60,000 graduates decided to leave their boots and find employment outside the country. It is certainly a problem to find a job in Italy, maintaining a high standard of living and having the right working conditions.

The birth of new technologies, including the blockchain, is sometimes alarming because it is mistakenly thought that they will take away work instead of creating new professional opportunities. But that’s not the case. Today, in fact, the blockchain is already creating new jobs.

Only in November, thanks to a course organised by the PDC Academy as part of the Blockchain Month Venice, 16 young people found work in this sector. The blockchain course, not yet completed, has 117 students, of which 10% have already found work without having finished the 120 hours of lessons.

PDC Academy has contacted the students to give them the opportunity to send their CVs to thousands of companies thanks to a partnership with the Milan office of the recruiting agency Page Personnel, which has already requested the names of all the participants who are looking for work to offer them to its clients which are looking for their own professional figures in the blockchain field.

Overall, the results of the first two weeks out of three are surprising.

Of the 55 students, out of a total of 117, who are following the live program, 16 have discovered how to implement their idea, 9 have started company collaborations and 7 have received a job offer.

Italy and Blockchain

Overall, Italy is a country that is certainly very conscious of the blockchain world. For example, it was the first country to translate the full text of Bitcoin’s whitepaper and the country with the most commercial activities per citizen to accept cryptocurrencies as payment methods.
