In just under a year, since June 2019, the Local.Bitcoin.com platform has reached remarkable milestones and has evolved beyond the simple role of allowing to trade, buy and sell Bitcoin Cash (BCH), it has now also added a Marketplace section with a section for game items for the Steam platform.
The platform offers the possibility to make escrow payments in order to have the security necessary to make online sales. Moreover, there is no need to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure.
The novelty of Local.Bitcoin lies in the introduction of the possibility to sell and buy items of the famous online game Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS: GO): which include weapons, chests and so on, all thanks to the integration of the API of the game.
Furthermore, since APIs are integrated, it is possible to inspect the object within the game and see the player’s other objects, making sure that it is owned by the player.
Obviously, BCH is used for payments. Currently, the most expensive item on the platform can be purchased for just under 2 BCH, or about $400.
More games soon?
It is interesting to note that, at the moment, only the FPS on Steam is integrated, but there will probably soon be other games, who knows, perhaps the most famous Fortnite who seemed to love cryptocurrencies.
Once again it is possible to see how the world of video games can be integrated with that of the blockchain, since these have, among other things, some aspects in common such as the uniqueness of the objects that can be conveyed in the NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) of different blockchains and games, like the ones found for example in video games such as My Crypto Heroes.
Meanwhile, today another news has been announced by Bitcoin Cash: the Bitfinex stablecoin Tether, in fact, has landed on this blockchain thanks to the SLP tokens.
