Thailand will use the IBM TradeLens system

Thailand’s customs department, under the supervision of the Government’s Ministry of Finance, has announced that it will use the TradeLens system developed by IBM.

This collaboration is part of the initiative to modernise Thailand and transform it into a 4.0 economy, as evidenced by the plan called Thailand 4.0, which provides for a modernisation of the country’s economy by trying to increase the per capita income from the current $5470 to $15000 in 2032.

The programme also envisages reducing the disparity between the social classes and consequently favouring greater welfare for citizens, attempting to also increase the HDI (Human Development Index).

The IBM TradeLens solution is already used by giants such as MSC and CMA CGM and will make operations safer and more transparent, as stated by Patama Chantaruck, managing director of IBM for Thailand:

“An automatic and immutable tracking tool, which will lead to a more secure, transparent, efficient and simpler workflow”.
